Fast Fashion Output

In the counterpart for this series, I looked at the social and environmental effects the fast fashion industry has had. I continued to display my shame through the incorporation of tags, all from clothes I had purchased through companies affiliated with fast fashion. The extreme texture made through rocks and hay created an imperfect heavy surface that I found to reflecting more on reality. The sewing machine itself is comprised of silicone which I dyed, cut, carved, and glazed. Its soft nature and coloration resembling skin allowed me to create human-like qualities within the machine. It seems fitting. While we are caught up in the cheap deals humanity of the workers is ignored, if they are not invisible altogether they are just another step in the supply chain, life reduced to machinery.
